Chennai-based Rajalakshmi entered Indian’s fast-growing renewables sector via the acquisition last week of a majority stake in Ashok Leyland Wind Energy.
That deal brought the company’s Rajalakshmi Renewables unit 63MW of wind, which it says it expects to expand to 200MW over the next four years.
It also plans to add 53MW of solar and begin offering O&M services to renewable energy plants.
