AMSC will supply electrical control systems (ECS) for Inox Wind’s existing 2MW range, under a long-term supply agreement that also allows the Indian group to carry out a limited amount of internal manufacturing using the US company’s technology.
AMSC said the supply and manufacturing deal will be worth about $210m to it over the next three or four years.
The Massachusetts-based company will also work with Inox Wind to develop a 3MW turbine design under a yet to be negotiated licensing deal, AMSC told its investors.
