The company currently owns and operates the 24.8-megawatt (MW) Gadag wind park in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, which it purchased with £10m it raised through the issuance of preferred shares shortly after it became incorporated in 2007.
Indian Energy says it has already identified further wind assets it is interested in acquiring totalling 200MW, and intends to have a wind-generation portfolio topping 500MW by 2013.
