Yet it is from this unlikely base that the independent power producer has catapulted itself onto the global offshore wind industry’s main stage, taking the lead on two of Europe’s most ambitious ventures — the 600MW Gemini and 1GW Nordsee developments — and, in the process, helping to rewrite the rulebook for future market entrants.

This is Northland’s first foray offshore — it built its business on a cluster of onshore wind, solar and biomass assets in the province of Ontario.
