Operating almost under the radar, the country has doubled its installed capacity since 2012 and now produces almost 20% more wind energy than industry pioneer Denmark. The 1.05GW of wind it added last year was the third-highest in Europe (after the UK and Germany) and the eighth-highest in the world.
Conditions in Sweden could hardly be more favourable for wind power.
