In July, Royal finally pushed an energy transition law through parliament to boost the share of renewable energy in France’s electricity mix to 40% by 2030 (up from 19% today) and significantly reduce the country’s reliance on nuclear energy and fossil fuels.
France wants offshore wind to play a key role in this energy transition. With strong winds along its Atlantic, English Channel and Mediterranean coastlines, the potential is enormous.
