“Conditions are improving in the non-regulated market as power prices rise, which incentivises large industries to seek longer term PPAs. And [in this market] wind is becoming competitive because of its price and because it can be built fast, in 14 to 18 months after signing PPAs and obtaining all the licenses," QGE CEO Max Xavier told Recharge.

“Because many of the current power supply contracts of these companies are coming due in the next year or two, they are seeking to renew them for longer periods to avoid high power rates.”
