The agreement, which follows on from a technology partnership signed in March, will see the La Ciotat-headquartered floater specialist work up both concrete and steel models of its semi-submersible "damping pool" foundation, which is designed for waters of 30 metres (114.8 ft) and deeper, for machines an as-yet unspecified nameplate capacity off Japan.
Ideol's shallow-draught, ring-shaped concept is fashioned to function with the heave of natural frequencies offshore, giving it "exceptional hydrodynamic and motion performances compared to other surface floaters".
