The purchase makes El Andévalo, which is located in area of San Silvestre de Guzmán in the south of Huelva Province, the largest onshore wind farm in continental Europe and the second largest in Europe after Iberdrola’s 322MW Whitelee wind farm in Scotland.
The purchase of Los Lirios from Gamesa Energía was foreseen in a global accord signed by the two companies in 2005, which involved Gamesa selling 600MW of wind farms to Iberdrola.
