The Spanish group will receive €350m ($462m) straight away for the assets of Iberdrola Renewable France (IBRF), which operates 32 wind farms, plus a further €50m later if certain conditions are met.

After the deal IBRF will be owned by GE and MEAG, the asset management arm of Munich Re, which will both hold 40%.

The remaining 20% will be owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles, the renewables arm of the French utility.
