Iberdrola gives go-ahead for 714MW East Anglia 1 in UK waters

The Spanish group’s ScottishPower Renewables unit will spend £2.5bn ($3.5bn) building EA1, which is due to be fully operating by 2020.

The project team has already named Germany’s Siemens as preferred turbine supplier with its 7MW offshore machine.

ScottishPower Renewables also confirmed that it will use the Port of Lowestoft as the construction and operations base for the wind farm, sited about 42km offshore.

The
