Hywind, the world’s first floating offshore wind turbine, is being assembled and made ready to be towed to its final location outside Karmøy.
The tower is raised in an upright position, and a 2.6-megawatt (MW) Siemens turbine is being mounted on its top.
“It’s really looking good — it’s beautiful,” says Erik Solheim, Norway’s environment minister. He visited Hywind on a sunny day with blue skies and a soft breeze.
