The two devices, probably from the Second World War, were discovered near each other last Friday on the seabed in the English Channel, 13km off the Sussex coast, during routine unexploded ordnance (UXO) surveys.
A warning notice has been sent to mariners, and a 500-metre exclusion zone has been placed around the devices. A marker buoy has been positioned to alert sea users to stay clear until the bombs have been retrieved or disposed of.
