Index Equity Sweden AB has signed up for 35% of the total issued shares, making it the second largest stakeholder – after Swedish pension fund Gamla Liv – in Hexicon.

"This share issue will enable us to intensify our project at Dounreay in northern Scotland where our first platform will be built, and seize additional business opportunities in this rapidly growing global market," says Hexicon chief executive Henrik Baltscheffsky.

The company is targeting a final investment decision (FID) “in or before” April 2017 on the pilot development, an 8-12MW semisubmersible unit located off Dounreay in water depths of 60-110 metres.
