The wind farm singlehandedly adds enough power for more than 400,000 households to the nation’s network and means the combined offshore fleet can supply up to 12% of UK homes.

The project's three developers invested £2bn ($3.2bn) in Gwynt y Mor. They are energy group RWE, which owns 60% of the project, its fellow German utility SWM (30%) and Siemens, which supplied 160 wind turbines to the project.
