Goldwind could acquire all or some of WPE, which has assets including the 400MW annual capacity wind turbine assembly plant in Pernambuco state formerly operated by Argentina-owned Impsa, said Bloomberg.
Recharge was first to reveal in April that WPE’s Argentinian parent group was seeking to sell a controlling interest in the Brazilian operation, which slipped into bankruptcy last year.
WPE assets up for grabs also include a controlling stake in its Energimp wind development subsidiary.
