Goldwind will also handle EPC duties for Johannesburg-based developer and IPP BioTherm Energy’s Excelsior wind farm, according to a statement on the Chinese group’s website.
Average annual wind speeds at the Excelsior site have been clocked at 7.5m/s.
In April, Goldwind revealed plans to supply its 2.5MW permanent magnet direct-drive turbines and provide EPC services for BioTherm’s Golden Valley wind farm, which is also located in Eastern Cape province.
