The Global Apollo Programme seeks to emulate the 1960’s US space programme.

The group wants large nations joining the plan to spend an average of 0.02% of their gross domestic product (GDP) a year on encouraging research and development into renewables over the next decade.

Its founders include UK climate envoy and former chief scientist David King, ex-BP chief executive John Browne and Nicholas Stern, chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.
