Canada’s Northland Power and Singapore-based Yushan Energy – the co-developers of the roughly 1GW Hai Long 2 & 3 offshore wind projects in the Taiwan Strait – have entered a letter of intent with Belgian contractor GeoSea and Taiwanese shipbuilder CSBC Corporation to lead construction activities of the Hai Long projects.

GeoSea and CSBC in December had already signed a cooperation agreement to bid for turbine installation work off the Taiwan’s coasts, with the aim to have a joint venture up and running by mid-2018, in time to compete for contracts under Taiwan’s offshore wind programme.
