Sewind and GE Power Conversion did not make public financial terms of the transaction, which GE says the two companies recently signed. GE will also provide maintenance and service.
The GE unit will manufacture the converters at a plant in Shanghai, a move the US industrial giant says will further reinforce its commitment to wind power development in Asia.
GE officials were not immediately available for comment on what model turbines Seawind will employ the converters or in what projects.
