Jensen takes the top role as GE forms a 50/50 joint venture with Alstom in offshore wind following its €9.7bn ($10.4bn) acquisition of the French group’s power assets, which completed earlier this week.
Jensen was previously vice-president at Alstom Wind Offshore. Until January 2012 he was head of offshore wind at Vestas.
GE had more or less retreated from the offshore wind space before the Alstom deal, but it is now firmly back on the agenda.
