The US group will supply 16 of its 2.5-100 machines to the Karwice Wind Farm near Darlowo.

The plant is being developed by PGE Energia Natury PEW in conjunction with Aldesa of Spain.

Cliff Harris, general manager of GE’s renewable energy business in Europe, said: ”The 16 turbines that we will be providing for the Karwice project will add to our current Poland installed base of 155 units and increase the total output power capabilities of our wind turbines in Poland to 372MW.”

GE will also provide Karwice with remote monitoring and diagnostics from its global wind monitoring centre in Salzbergen, Germany.
