The 258MW contract is worth R$843m, and is the first which Gamesa has signed with a subsidiary of state-run power holding company Eletrobras.
Eletrobras accounts for 36% of Brazil’s electricity, and operates in Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Nicaragua, Argentina and Venezuela.
Palmar Holding is made up of investment fund Río Bravo Energía I and Eletrobras subsidiary Eletrosul. It is developing the projects in the state of Río Grande do Sul in southern Brazil.
The
