The tower plant will be sited in wind-rich Puerto Altamira, in the state of Tamaulipas, and will be able to meet capacity demand of 500MW annually.
The factory – due to be operating by the end of 2016 – will serve the US and Central America as well as the local market, said Gamesa, which will build the tower plant via Windar Renovables, its joint venture with the Daniel Alonso Group.
