The tender is to build the 50MW Qatineh project southwest of the city of Homs. According to newspaper reports, Syria expects to start construction of the wind farm during the first quarter of this year. The newspaper report, which cited an official from the Ministry of Electricity’s National Energy Research Centre, said that Gamesa had already been selected to build the project, but Gamesa says it is not able to confirm this.
