The expanded capacity at Gamesa’s nacelle plant inMamandur, near Chennai, will mostly produce the G114-2.0 MW, which the group is due to launch into the Indian market next year.
The Mamandur plant, first opened in July 2013, will also be able to turn out the G97-2.0 MW and now boasts a total annual capacity of up to 1.7GW.
Gamesa has emerged as one of the leading OEMs in the Indian market, claiming the market-leader spot in 2013 and battling local heavyweight Suzlon for new business in the country.
