The European company plans to acquire the 19.2MW project and certain assets of US development company LEEDCo for an undisclosed sum, reported the Cleveland Plain Dealer and others.
LEEDCo aims to build the six-turbine array by the end of 2018 as the first offshore wind farm in the Great Lakes, and one specially equipped to deal with the sheet ice encountered on the lake.
