The offshore specialist said Windbase could help support the increasing role of helicopters as the industry moves to larger plants sited farther from shore – mirroring their established position in the oil & gas sector.
The Windbase, which would be made up of an accommodation module, a service hub and heliport fixed to the seabed with so-called Mono Bucket foundations, is designed to bring down O&M costs for the next generation of wind farms.
