The government says the tenders will contribute to its recently adopted target of a 40% share of renewables in its electricity supply by 2030, as well as opening new markets to the domestic renewables industry.
Although there is no detailed calendar yet for building the projects, the French wind association, FEE, expects a commissioning by 2019 or 2020.
