Engel starts as CEO of DNV GL Energy on 4 April, based in Arnhem, the Netherlands, the company said today.
He succeeds acting CEO Elisabeth Harstad and also becomes a member of the executive committee for the DNV GL Group.
Engel was CEO of Danish wind equipment giant Vestas from 2005 to August 2013, when he was replaced by current boss Anders Runevad.
