The two companies have formed a consortium called Seagreen Wind Energy to take part in the UK tender.
Fluor and Airtricity are already developing the 500-megawatt (MW) Greater Gabbard facility off the coast of Suffolk, which is currently the world’s largest offshore wind farm under construction, due for completion in 2011.
Airtricity and Fluor have also signed a development agreement with The Crown Estate for the Bell Rock offshore wind farm in Scottish territorial waters, which could lead to the construction of up to 700MW in capacity.
Fluor’s
