First Reserve acquires 230MW Mariah North wind project in Texas

First Reserve has acquired a majority stake in the 230MW Mariah North Wind project in the northern Texas Panhandle from a renewable energy developer backed by Houston-based Arctas Capital Group.

Financial terms of the transaction were not made public.

Arctas’ Mariah Acquisition will continue to oversee project development and will partner with affiliate Harvest Energy Services to construct and operate the $350m facility.

They have signed a turnkey EPC contract for the balance of the plant with Mortenson Construction as well as a fixed-price O&M and turbine supply agreement with General Electric.
