The plan will involve around 18 wind power plants with a 2-3 MW capacity each, in the area, which has been marked as a wind power area in the draft regional land use plan of Mountain Lapland and in the regional land use plan of Northern Lapland. The output from the plants would supply around 40% of total electricity demand in the two municipalities, Fortum says.
