EWE co-owns and operates the Alpha Ventus wind power lab in the German North Sea. Under the two-year agreement, it will provide expertise during the construction of Zefir, train engineers, and carry out joint research and technology development programmes with Irec.
“Combining the two offshore wind-power test platforms, in the North Sea and the Mediterranean, within a co-operation framework, is an important milestone in the development of offshore wind power in southern Europe,” says Irec director-general Antoni Martínez.
