The area included in the agreement comprises the North Sea, the Channel, Celtic Sea and Irish Sea and covers an area of around 760,000km2.

The signatories are Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway and Belgium.

“The countries will now work together according to a precise schedule, in order to coordinate investments that will be made for developing these interconnections,” according to a statement from the Belgian presidency of the EU.
