The EEA data shows that the EU’s overall emissions fell by 1.8% between 2012 and 2013, meaning that the bloc is very close to meeting its 2020 goal to cut emissions by 20% from 1990 levels.
The analysis suggests that the EU is also on track to meet its overall 20% renewables and energy efficiency targets for the end of the decade.
