“You have to remember that we have more than 3,000 people in China. So turbines for this market could be manufactured in China and shipped to Australia from a Chinese cost perspective,” Engel tells Recharge on a visit to Australia.
“In 2010, Vestas sold more megawatts in China than all of the Chinese combined sold outside China.”
The Danish manufacturer has nearly 1GW of turbines installed in or planned for Australia.
