Enel gets go ahead for 90MW Sardinia wind farm

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power has been given the go ahead from regional authorities to build a 90MW wind farm in Portoscuso, in the Sulcis Iglesiente area of Sardinia.

The new wind farm will consist of 39 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines, for a total installed capacity of around 90 MW.

Once completed, the Portoscuso wind farm will be Enel Green Power’s largest wind farm in Italy.

"This is an important step in the program for Enel Green Power’s organic growth, as outlined in the development plans," said Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel Green Power.
