In a statement Enel, which owns 69% of Enel Green Power, said it had started to examine the idea of “corporate integration” of EGP businesses, but did not provide further details.
Analysts said that taking back full control of EGP would help to harness the potential of a business which Enel sees as a growth engine for the group.
EGP, one of Europe’s biggest green energy companies, was established by Enel at the end of 2008, prior to being listed in 2010.
