The German utility in a statement today said that due to a legal upper limit for Germany's offshore wind expansion of 7.7GW by 2020, it currently only can count on a grid-access guarantee for 116.8MW for the wind park.

In earlier communication EnBW had said Albatros was planned for a capacity of 400MW.

"With the tendering process that has now started, we will verify in coming months whether a construction of Albatros is possible by 2019, and whether the wind array can be built economically despite its comparatively small size,"

EnBW technical director Hans-Josef Zimmer said.
