Italy's Enel Green Power (EGP) is now the leader in Brazil's nascent solar power market after switching on the 11MW Fontes Solar PV plant – currently the country's largest - and winning more than 500MW out of a total of 1.7GW solar capacity in recent auctions that will be built by 2017.
Located in Pernambuco – with modules supplied by China's JinkoSolar and inverters from Italy's Fimer – Fontes Solar also reaffirms EGP's bet on hybrid technology as it builds on its experience with similar plants in Brazil, Chile and the US.
