A two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two will see them evaluate projects in the Philippines, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia.
Other areas may follow, said a statement, adding that only development-stage projects would be considered. Renewable sources covered by the MoU are wind, solar, hydropower and geothermal.
