EDF EN said SITAC Wind Management and Development will become its wind-focused subsidiary in India, operating as a joint venture with Indian real estate group SITAC.
The JV plans to install 142MW by the end of the year across four projects in the state of Gujarat, all holding 25-year PPAs.
A statement said: “The partnership between SITAC and EDF Energies Nouvelles aims to cover every section of the wind energy market, from the development, construction and financing of wind farms in India, to their operations & maintenance.”
EDF EN, the renewables arm of French utility giant EDF, said India “lies at the heart” of its international strategy.
