The German company is backing a scheme formed by the Carbon Trust, a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to accelerate the move to a low-carbon economy.
The Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) was launched in 2008 with the aim of improving the economics of the sector and reducing the cost of energy by 10% over the next decade.
