The Dusseldorf-based company’s renewables division generated 63% than during the same period last year. Its total green-energy generation capacity has grown 14% since the beginning of 2009, hitting 2,265 megawatts (MW) on 31 March. Wind power accounted for 95% of the total, with biomass and micro-hydro picking up the slack.
Despite the growth, wind-fired electricity accounted for just 1% of the company’s overall production.
