Thecompany’s Global Wind Application Centre (GWAC), located in Freienbach, near Zurich, will house newsystem formulation labs, process testing equipment and semi-scale demonstrationtools.
Largercomponent-scale manufacturing equipment in the GWAC, part of Dow’s new 800 sqmetre Composite Excellence Centre, will be used for over-adhesive bonding,vacuum bagging, and vacuum resin infusion at room and elevated temperatures.
The GWACwill also feature a five-metre blade mould section, equipped with cooling andheating capabilities, coupled with temperature development sensors.
