Dong eyes spring 2016 for US offshore wind area survey work

Dong Energy is targeting spring 2016 to carry out geophysical/geotechnical, bathymetric and environmental survey work for its proposed Bay State Wind project to be located in federal waters south of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Recharge learns.

Dong is looking to contract the work to one or more US companies and sent several executives from Denmark for discussions with candidates at the American Wind Energy Association’s Offshore 2015 conference this week in Baltimore.

Results from the surveys will form part of a Site Assessment Plan (SAP) that Dong is required under its lease terms to submit to the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
