The Danish utility has operated the project, located off Cumbria, England in the East Irish Sea, since 2006.
The sale marks the latest stage of a retreat from offshore wind by British Gas-owner Centrica, which began to express doubts about its future in the sector in mid-2013.
Earlier this year Centrica and Dong pulled out of the 4.2GW UK offshore wind Irish Sea zone.
