The plans to withdraw from one of Europe’s most promising renewables markets comes as Poland overhauls its system of support for green energy – changes that will effectively cut funding for onshore wind power.
However, one industry source said any sale on the part of Dong and Iberdrola will probably be motivated by the companies’ quests to reduce debt.
A Dong spokesman told Recharge that the company would not comment on market rumours.
