Last year, RES struck a similar agreement transferring to Dong Energy its lease off the coast of Massachusetts.
Neither company made public financial terms of the latest transaction, which will require approval from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the agency that regulates sector activity beyond state territorial limits.
Once they secure regulatory approval and Dong takes over the lease, RES will provide development services for any future projects to be located there.
